The police opened an investigation into a video released last night on social networks showing an injured woman lying on the floor of Wolfson Hospital.

The incident occurred after the woman who arrived at the hospital demanded to know when she would receive treatment. According to the couple, a security guard approached her, moved her from the counter, slammed her head against the wall, and continued to beat her even after she was lying on the floor.

The hospital claims the couple attacked the medical staff and security guards who were forced to respond, and that the video does not reflect the incident as it happened.

Wolfson Hospital said in response that the video does not describe the entire incident, "Last Friday night, the emergency room staff at the Wolfson Medical Center was attacked by a couple who was documented in a video that is now being distributed on social networks. The couple was asked to leave the emergency room because they acted with unreasonable and ongoing force against our security guards.

"Unfortunately, the information distributed on social networks is based on videos taken by people at the end of the incident, and doesn't document the entire incident," they added at the hospital. "Wolfson Medical Center condemns acts of violence of any kind, and acts to eradicate it by all means at its disposal, and we are prohibited from expanding, as the matter is currently under police investigation."

Police said "last Friday, around 11:00 PM, the hotline received report of an attack at Wolfson Hospital. The police arrived at the scene and met a couple (52, from Holon) and a security crew.

"A check found that the medical staff in the emergency room asked the woman to leave the counter and when she refused, security guards were called. On the other hand, the couple claimed the security guards attacked them and caused them bruises. Yesterday, the couple filed a complaint with the police against the security guards, and this morning the security guards were questioned under warning about suspected illegal use of force," the police said.
