The IDF has canceled navigation week for a squad commanders course in an Armored Corps unit, due to concerns of Bedouin violence against the soldiers, Kan 11 News reported Sunday night.

A senior Armored commander ordered that instead of holding navigation week as planned, in an open area in southern Israel, the navigations will take place within the Shizafon Base.

"Navigation week will be held on the campus of the unit's training base in the south, due to professional and safety considerations," an IDF spokesperson confirmed.

This is not the first time the IDF has changed its plans due to concerns over the safety of its soldiers.

Last month, the IDF moved the swearing-in ceremony for Nahal Brigade soldiers from the Western Wall to a memorial site near Pardes Hanna, in northern Israel, due to concerns for the safety of the soldiers' friends and families were they to visit the Old City of Jerusalem.
