The ocean itself caught fire next to an oil platform in the Gulf Mexico over the weekend,

Video on social media showed the large circle of flames rising up to the surface of the water in what has been dubbed an "eye of fire."

Mexico's state oil company Pemex said the fire, which was straight out of a disaster movie, was caused by a gas leak from an underwater pipeline, and has since been brought under control.
