The leftist Meretz party appears to be concerned, after recent pre-election polls gave the party only four or five seats. In the 2013 election, Meretz won six seats, doubling its power from the previous Knesset.

MK Tamar Zandberg on Sunday warned Meretz supporters that if they vote for the “Zionist Union” headed by Yitzhak Herzog and Tzipi Livni instead of for Meretz, they will ultimately be lending a hand to the formation of a right-wing government.

In an open letter to Meretz supporters, Zandberg wrote that over the last two years she has sounded “a loud and clear voice against the occupation and war and against an extreme, nutty and dangerous right and a center that is paralyzed.”

"So in this election I am on the cusp [of entering the Knesset] again, but this time it's not personal, this time it’s a national mission. There is a revolution on the table,” she said.

According to Zandberg, the possibility of replacing a right-wing government depends on Meretz.

"Without the seats of Meretz to his left, Herzog will have no government. Simple as that. He will not have enough. More than that, if the entire growth of the Zionist Union comes only from the votes of the left and comes only at the expense of Meretz, even then he will not have a government. And then there is a real danger of a right-wing government or a unity government, which is really a right-wing government,” she warned.

"But the price will be paid by Meretz, who will have lost its voice, and then it will be too late. How will you feel if you wake up in the morning after the election to find out that Meretz is no longer there, but that your vote which you gave to the revolution went to the trash, meaning to a government led by Bibi? Terrible, isn't it?" said Zandberg.
